there are two parts to the program:
- my lifeIf you choose to participate, the process begins with a blood test. Your blood sample is then sent to the state-of-the-art laboratory at Bloodworks Northwest for analysis. Once your hemophilia treatment center (HTC) receives your results back, they will share and discuss them with you.
- our futureYou can also play an active part in helping the hemophilia community by participating in the research portion of the program; more than 5,000 people have already chosen to do so! If you agree, your genotyping results will be sent to the secure ATHNdataset and your blood sample will be sent to a central repository. All of your information will be coded so your identity is kept strictly confidential, and your name and other identifying information will never leave your HTC. Read the full program consent form to learn more about how to contribute to research efforts.
Researchers can now apply for access to the data and samples contained in the My Life, Our Future Research Repository through the American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network (ATHN) to support scientifically sound research.
